About Me

My name is Heidi Benson.  I am 27 years old, married with 2 children.  My family is my life!  My husband is Kyler, my best friend.  He works hard every day to support our family and I couldn't ask for anything more.  We have a preschooler (son) and a toddler (daughter).  I was raised a "Country Munchkin" and now I am proudly raising two of them!  I grew up in a small farm town in Utah, and currently reside only 6 miles from where I grew up.  We are lucky enough to live close to both of our families.

I love reading, writing, teaching, outdoors, crafting, cooking (particularly baking), eating, and meeting new people.  I recently discovered Zumba  and fell in love as well!  You will see that all of these things involve my family, none of these things would be any fun without them! I am very passionate about everything I do.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I am blessed to have the Gospel in my life and have a knowledge of eternal families.  The youth of today amaze me.  It wasn't all that long ago that I was one, but things have changed so much and the pressures of the world are astounding.  I hope that I am making a difference to those that I serve in at least a small way.

A little bit more about my background:
When I was 12-years-old I learned how to make hard candy suckers (a lollipop is what most people call them, forgive me, I am from the country!) and I fell in love!  I decided to make it into a small business.  I have a Cottage License from the state of Utah allowing me to produce food for retail in my home.  I make hard candy suckers in all shapes, flavors, and colors and have sold them all over the world.  Currently I sell them at local events and shows.  They are huge, yummy, and last a long time.  The most common thing I hear about my hard candy suckers is, "They are just like the one's my Grandma used to make!"

Something I get asked about a lot is how I came up with Country Munchkins.  Honestly, I stole it.  My mom and Aunt used to run a preschool out of their garage and they called it Kountry Munchkins.  I am too obsessive about spelling to use their original spelling of the name, but I loved it and had to keep it alive.  There is not a preschool by that name right now, hopefully sometime in the future there will be one again, so for now it will be the name of my little blog!

If you would like to know more about me, feel free to ask!  As I think of more to share about myself I will add it!
